As the #1 rated ski resort in North America (Ski Magazine Ranking), the Deer Valley area draws a wide variety of tourism to it's slopes every winter for incredible skiing at a world class resort. Surrounding many of these ski runs is a wide variety of real estate to choose from for many vacation home buyers looking for their perfect getaway in the mountains. While the price-point of the real estate with ski access is quite high, there are a number of options to choose from to still be close to the action on the mountain at a nuch more reasonable price.
The unique part of Deer Valley that is a major difference from the rest of the resorts in Utah is it's incredible amount of homes and condominiums with ski access. While skiing here, it seems you can purchase property on any ski run you like while going through main areas of the mountain. Large homes in the Upper Deer Valley and Empire Pass areas are impressive to say the least and are situated on many popular runs with convenient access to many parts of the mountain. You can also find hundreds of condominium units in any area throughout the resort to fit any buyers particular needs.
The "Upper Deer Valley" area spans a large area at the top of the mountain from the Silver Lake Village area on down to the lower portions containing American Flag and Centennial developments. Silver Lake is the most notable name as it is a main ski hub at the top of the mountain next to the Stein Ericksen and other condominium developments. You can find a wide variety of property within this area to search as it offers single family homes and condominiums on and off the slopes.
The lower portion of the resort is largely made up of condo developments surrounding the base area also known as Snow Park Lodge. This community is the entry point in pricing to the Deer Valley area as a whole with smaller units starting around 500k and sometimes even lower. The sweet spot here is between 600k-1M in price to get a nice ski condo with easy access to get to the base for skiing. Single family homes here would require you to look within the Solamere area which have homes sitting on the hillside overlooking the resort. Older homes start over the 1M range and stretch up to 5M in price for higher end new homes with big views.
This area of the ski resort is the newest to be developed which many buyers find attractive to purchase in. Much of the building started in the mid-2000's and almost every property here has ski access next to your door. Condominiums right on the slopes start around 1.5M which get you ski access, nice amenities, and a high end finished unit. The Montage is located at the Empire Pass base area where mulitple lifts conjoin into an area to disperse skiers all over the mountain. Many other units can be had scattered throughout the Empire Pass area with big views, great skiing, and high end finishes in every property found here.
With a certain "Lake Tahoe" feel overlooking a large reservoir, the Deer Crest area is the only gated section of the Deer Valley resort and contains the popular St. Regis development. Almost the entire area is dominated by large luxury ski-in ski-out homes with incredible views of the mountains and the reservoir. Pricing for a single family home starts at 5M at the bottom all the way up to the top row of homes stretching 20M in price. It's certainly an exclusive area that many looking in Empire Pass need to also explore with a knowledgable realtor by their side.
